A Little Background:
Scenes from the Old (upstairs)Library: 1998 Sunday School, 99-00 UCSS Board The new library project began with the 2001 Quakes, books and shelves fell down and room was needed to store 2 containers of donated clothing.
Filling the Upstairs Library with 2001 Quake Donations. A Buildings and Grounds committee report from 1995 was discovered which included in its list of needed repairs, "Install Memorial plaque for Rev. David Gruver". Beverly Gruver was contacted and invited to a future dedication once the time of Quake relief was completed. The Union Church Gift Shop was officially closed in the Summer of 2001 and became the proposed location of the new library.
